Explanation

StoryCapsule is a company that will record stories from people and enables them to capture their voice in some way. Whether it be a poem, story in their life, special event or something momentus to be kept and given to loved ones and, if comfortable, made public so anyone can listen and enjoy.

Will travel to where you prefer to record whatever you want, edit it and master it then send you links and/or the files. The aim is to capture the sound of peoples stories for them in a professional way and enable an easy method of keeping and sharing afterward.

In some cases we feel that if it feels comfortable that these stories could be very moving to other members of the public swell and so feel it may be a good place to allow further appreciation if it where appropriately agreed upon first.

Pricing

Deposit = 15 min recording + raw recording + mixed links = £36.25

Extras

Beyond 15 mins of recording = £1/1min

Webpage housing of clips = £15 +£1per added picture

Send we transfer of plane audio and/or videos = £3

Step by Step

1. Register your interest by making contact

2. Receive response prompting booking availability.

3. Before booking, work out roughly how much you would like to record. The deposit will pay for the first 15minutes and counts as a minimum. Maybe time yourself speaking beforehand and see how long it takes.

You could pick an amount of time you would like to record beforehand, the recording engineer can indicate to you when the time is reached and then is your decision whether to continue or not. Retakes of a story is fine but pricing is based on the amount of recorded time in total there is.

It would be good to have notes when talking, even better if those nots are electronically visible as paper turning will be picked up on the recording.

StoryCapsule would be happy to return on another days and record more (if more stories where remembered that were wished to be captured) and edit it on to the original file with no fuss. Or just leave you with more clips.

4. Make booking, with deposit (£36.25) and indicating roughly how long recording will be.

*Note once the deposit is made, unless the engineer had to cancel for some reason (in which case there will be a refund) this will serve as the minimum payment for the recording, this serves to pay for the first 15 minutes and if recording is finished before this then the full deposit is still retained. Over this costs £1 per minute extra (shown to you on the device when the recording has been stopped).

5. Engineer arrive at time and location 15minutes before start.

6. When ready the engineer will press record and listen compassionately.

7. Once finished, recording stopped and saved. Engineer will show the length of the time of the recording. Because of the deposit you will be entitled to the raw recording if you have an electronic device it can be put onto via usb port.

8. Then within 5 working days the engineer will edit and master the sound. You will then be sent links to the recordings that will be unlisted and not public but could can share the links with whoever you like.

*Note some engineers may be willing to master and edit while still in the same premises if any additional payment transactions at the same time.

9. Decide whether would would like a webpage with a password to display all of the recordings. Inform story capsule of any design ideas and send any files needed for it (eg pictures). Also inform if you would like the actual digital files which would be done via we transfer.

10. Within 5 days from agreement and payment you will be sent the link and password (of your choice) and will be yours further more.

11. We would be grateful if at any point you decide you would be happy to make any of your clips public so everyone could potentially benefit from the stories but there is absolutely no pressure here if its preferred to stay private.

*Note If it is agreed to add any recordings to podcast streams than any level of popularity it receives wont be rewarded to you financially.

12. Consider contacting us again if more would like to be recorded and added to what has already been captured and if so we can start the steps again.
